Channel 10 News revisited the Good Guys
hostage crisis story 11 years after it took place in
South Sacramento, California.
The photos below are two of the gunmen who held me hostage.  I learned years later after research that both
of these gunmen were found a few months earlier burglarizing Florin High School and admitted to have
planted a plastic bomb at a local high school.  In addition, they were scheduled for a court date on April 5,
1991, the day after the Good Guys hostage crisis.

During the hostage period, the hostage takers stated they were extremely upset with the way they had been
treated in school when they arrived in the United States.  They constantly complained during the hostage
period that they had not been taught English during school and could not get a job due to their lack of
English speaking skills, they had not received a good education, could not receive a high school diploma
which prevented them from joining the military, and in turn, they believed they were not properly prepared to
go out into society and earn money.  They wanted to join the military and go to Thailand.
Note:  I am by no means justifying the actions taken by the hostage takers.
